A letter of Russel Braga, Faithful servant of The Way of Love:

The Way of Purity

On the third week of Advent, on the twelfth month of year two thousand eighteen, I Russel Braga had a dream, and in this dream I had a vision of the Lord. I was standing in front of a pure and pristine water pond, handmade of the Lord, made of polished volcanic rock, and the Lord made the pond beautiful and good. And I heard a voice from above telling me, “Use this pure water to cook for my people!”, and as I looked down onto the lower left of the pond, I could see a small water stream which connected to the outside world, and I could see debris from the world on the surface of the stream, slowly advancing onto the circled pond which remained pure, and I feared that the pure water from the pond would get dirty and contaminated, so I left the pond and advanced to the middle of the water stream with a stainless–steel bowl in hand, and I started to blend in the pure water still remaining in the stream, now containing contaminated black water that had already advanced from the world. And as I mixed in both waters for fear that the pure water would make me visible and stand out amidst the dirty black water in the stream, I heard a voice within my concious telling me, “Why are you mixing what God made pure with that which is impure?”, and God revealed to me the following: “I did not create you to be indifferent.” At that point, I no longer feared nor I was anxious, and I was given the courage to go back to the center of the pond, the source of pure water, and I heard a multitude of voices telling me three times in unison:  One hundred twenty one!, One hundred twenty one!, One hundred twenty one!, as I woke up from the dream.

Now, being fully conscious and awake, I heard a voice within me repeatedly saying three times: Psalm 121, Psalm 121, Psalm 121!, but I was tired and without much energy after the dream, and I wanted to continue sleeping. Thus, I said to myself, “Maybe it’s just me trying to make sense of the dream.  I will stay in bed and read later when I wake up.” Then I heard the same voice telling me at once, “Get up and read!”, and I became reenergized. I immediately got up, and I read Psalm 121, which I had never read in my life until that very moment (Psalm 121: 1-8):

Assurance of God’s Protection
A Song of Ascents

I lift up my eyes to the hills,
From whence does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot be moved,
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold he who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord is your keeper;
the Lord is you shade
on your right hand.
The sun shall not smite you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all evil;
He will keep your life.
The Lord will keep
your going out and your coming in
from this time forth and for evermore.

Wisdom Interprets the Dream

Beloved, blessed are thou if you listen today and understand: May the Truth in the Gospel of Peace be revealed to you!

The beautiful polished volcanic rock in the dream represents you as the living temple of God, made good and strong in the image of the God. The pure and pristine water in the pond represents the source of all that is good, that is, the Holy Spirit of God given to you at the baptismal font of living water. God’s call to use His gift of pure living water represents God’s call for you to serve Him and work to refresh his people, wherever you are in life and using the gifts God has given you, without fear.

The inclination to blend in the world is really fear of standing out pure and clean. God did not create you to mix in but to stand out. You have received a spirit of courage and not of fear. May Almighty God show you The Way, and in the name of His beloved Son Jesus Christ, may He grant you the strength to find courage in the sword of the Spirit, that is the Word of God, and reveal to you that upon the name of Jesus every knee shall bow in heaven, on earth, and in the underworld.

Exhortation

Finally, you are not alone. You have received the assurance of God’s protection.  Listen to His Word when God speaks directly to you and harden not your heart.

Beloved, go to the source of pure living water, and be pure, and remain pure.
